Hockey Alberta Spring Showcase

Hockey Alberta is hosting the three premier Team Alberta events over the course of three consecutive weeks at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer. The Alberta Cup, Alberta Challenge and Prospects Cup tournaments the top young male and female players in the province to showcase their talents in structured selection camp and tournament programs.

The key to making any event a successful and positive experience for all participants is the work of volunteers. Hockey Alberta is seeking volunteers to play key, off-ice roles in a number of areas. Position areas include:

  • Off-Ice Officials: Penalty box attendants, score clock operators and online score keepers. Scoring will be tracked using an online game sheet application. Volunteers for this role will be required to have experience working in or volunteering in similar roles and must be willing to learn new technologies and adapt to Hockey Alberta game protocols.
  • Ticket Scanners: Responsible for scanning tickets when ticket holders enter the game for the first time. Volunteers would also be responsible for placing wrist bands on ticket holders. No experience is required for this position. (Alberta Cup only)
  • Selling 50/50’s: Responsible for selling 50/50’s and collecting money. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Volunteer Services: Included but not limited to assist in the volunteer room refilling coffee & snacks, some preparation and clean up of meals, cleaning of the volunteer room when needed.
  • Merchandise Sales: Responsible for selling merchandise and collecting money.
  • Game Experience: Play music for the games, in game announcing (goals, penalties, sponsorship ads, etc.) Previous experience an asset.
