2020 Alberta Winter Games

The 2020 Alberta Winter Games ran February 14-17 in Airdrie.

Zone 7 defeated Zone 3 by a score of 6-4 to claim the gold medal, while Zone 2 earned bronze with a 7-5 victory over Zone 4.

The Alberta Winter Games are the start of the Hockey Alberta Development Program, and run every second year, alternating with the Peewee Prospects Cup. The Alberta Winter Games provide second-year Peewee athletes, as well as coaches, trainers and administrators an opportunity to discover the qualities of competitive hockey in a well-organized regional camp and select team competition. Male athletes born in 2007 who are registered with Hockey Alberta are eligible to compete in the 2020 Alberta Winter Games.

The Alberta Winter Games begin with four regional camps designed to allow athletes, coaches and trainers to show their skills and receive top-level instruction and evaluation. The top 40 athletes from each regional camp (two teams from each camp), six coaches, two coach mentors and two directors of operations will be selected to participate in the Alberta Winter Games
