Future Leaders Development Program
The Future Leader Development Program (FLPD) is designed to develop and train post-secondary students in the area of coaching.
The Future Leader Development Program runs April 28-30 in Sylvan Lake.
Selected future leaders will be trained and mentored on and off ice through classroom sessions that include: skill development, leadership, team building and off ice training. Along with classroom sessions and tasks, future leaders will work with a mentor to plan and deliver on ice sessions for a Hockey Alberta Development Camp. The Future Leaders Development Program helps to provide a base of enthusiastic coaches that will play an active role in Hockey Alberta programs and within their communities for years to come.
Included in the Future Leaders Development weekend will be:
- Scholarship opportunities
- Hockey Alberta track suit & apparel package
- Coach resource package
- NCCP– Coach Level 2- Trained Status
Following the spring session only 8 Future Leaders will be selected to move on to the summer program. Those chosen for the summer program will be eligible for a $1000 scholarship upon completion, with the opportunity for 2 future leaders to receive an additional $2000 for reaching distinguished status.
