Notice of First Stage of Appeal
Hockey Alberta provides the opportunity for right of appeal by any Member organization, Member Hockey Team, Player, Team Official, or Official that is dissatisfied with a decision or ruling that directly impacts them, in whole or in part, made pursuant to the Bylaws or Regulations.
An Appeal does not operate as a stay of the decision or ruling being appealed. Decisions or rulings will remain in effect unless the completed Appeals process amends said decision or ruling.
All Appeals must be initiated by submitting the online form below within seven (7) calendar days of the date of delivery of the decision or ruling being appealed.
The Notice of First Stage of Appeal must include the following to be accepted:
- the Hockey Alberta “Notice of Appeal” form completed in its entirety;
- the Appeal submission fee ($100 appeal fee, $6 online service charge, and GST) paid online via credit card. This fee is non-refundable;
- a copy of the decision which is being appealed (uploaded below), which proves the exhaustion of all appeals at the local level, if any;
- a concise summary of the grounds for appeal and the facts that support the appeal;
- a summary of the evidence and proposed witness statements (uploaded below) which the Appellant wishes to present.
Questions should be submitted via email to [email protected].
