Job Title: Assistant Coach – AAA Hockey Team

Reports To: Head Coach
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Coach to join our competitive AAA Hockey team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hockey, a passion for coaching, and a commitment to helping players develop both on and off the ice. As an Assistant Coach, you will work closely with the Head Coach to create an environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while helping athletes achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing practice sessions that focus on developing individual skills, team strategies, and overall hockey IQ.
- Be available 3 nights per week, Weekends for games and travel as needed.
- Support the Head Coach in game preparation, strategy implementation, and in-game decision-making.
- Provide constructive feedback to players, offering guidance and support to help them improve their performance.
- Help create a positive and respectful team culture, encouraging players to give their best effort and work collaboratively.
- Monitor player progress and help assess areas for improvement.
- Help with team travel arrangements and logistics as needed.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and league regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in a competitive hockey environment (AAA or higher level).
- Strong understanding of hockey fundamentals, strategies, and the development of players at the elite level.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaching staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evening practices, weekend games, and travel.
- Successful candidate requires criminal record check.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with youth or junior hockey players.
- Knowledge of the latest trends in hockey training, techniques, and technologies.
- Ability to analyze game footage and provide performance reviews.
