RAC Team Trainers
Job Overview:
We seek dedicated and passionate Hockey Trainers to join our teams for the 2025–2026 season. Trainers are critical to our athletes’ health and safety both on and off the ice. You will work closely with players (ages 11-18), coaches, parents, and staff to ensure the highest injury prevention, care, and communication standards.
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and surrounding areas
Commitment: 2–3 practices and 2–3 games per week, plus travel to away games and tournaments
Responsibilities:
- Maintain player medical information and injury logs.
- Bring and maintain a stocked first aid kit to all team activities.
- Assess and manage injuries on-site WITHIN SCOPE OF PRACTICE, and refer players to medical professionals as needed.
- Facilitate communication between players, parents, coaches, and health professionals regarding injuries and recovery.
- Conduct off-ice warm-ups and cool-downs.
- Perform minor equipment fixes during the season.
- Attend all games, practices, and tournaments.
- Be professional and presentable.
- Travel with the team for away games and tournaments.
- Time commitment for games is approximately 4–5 hours (pre-game warm-up, injury assessment, game time, post-game care).
- Time commitment for practices is approximately 2–2.5 hours (pre-practice prep, practice, post-practice care).
Requirements:
- Certified Hockey Canada Safety Person (HCSP) or willingness to complete certification before the season.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector screening)
