Head Coach
Successful candidates should have demonstrated strong coaching experience and hockey knowledge; an understanding of development standards and motivational tactics for elite athletes; and the ability to maintain a level of discipline and accountability while promoting a positive and safe culture.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Select qualified assistant coaches as needed;
- Lead coaching staff and team personnel (trainers and equipment manager) as required;
- Lead all player activity both on ice and off ice representing the Red Deer Vipers organization in a professional and respectful manner;
- Ensure all players and personnel abide by the Team Code of Conduct;
- Promote and ensure sufficient representation amongst the players and coaches for all approved community activities, events and fundraisers;
- Ongoing player recruitment throughout the season and off season;
- Assist management with all team fund-raising ideas and activities;
- Assist in obtaining and securing corporate partnership/sponsorship for the organization where possible;
- Maintain and work within the assigned approved budget.
