Are you passionate about hockey and ready to play a pivotal role in shaping young athletes both on and off the ice? The Flyers Hockey Association, a dynamic junior hockey team based in Fairview AB, is seeking to hire individuals for the roles of General Manager & Coaching with volunteer positions of Billet Liaison, Equipment Manager and Trainer also available within our organisation. This is a unique opportunity to lead, develop, and inspire a team poised for greatness.

General Manager & Coaching Key Responsibilities:

**Team Leadership:**

- Develop and implement coaching strategies that enhance team performance and player development. Foster a competitive, disciplined team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, respect, and the love of the game.

**Player Development:**

- Identify and nurture talent through rigorous training, tactical sessions, and mentorship. Manage player scouting, recruitment, and development programs to ensure a pipeline of talent and a robust team roster.

**Operational Management:**

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, including budget management, marketing initiatives, and staff supervision. Ensure compliance with league regulations and maintain strong relationships with league officials and other teams.

**Community Engagement:**

- Act as the face of the team, engaging with media, fans, and local communities to promote the team’s values and achievements. Enhance the team’s visibility and support base through effective public relations and community involvement.

 

**Qualifications:**

- Proven experience in coaching and team management.

- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing competitive teams and successful athletes.

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- A deep understanding of the dynamics of hockey and a passion for advancing the sport.
