Position Overview
The Olds Grizzlys Junior A Hockey Club is seeking a motivated and committed Assistant Coach to join our staff for the 2026–27 AJHL season. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about player development and eager to contribute to a high-performance hockey environment both on and off the ice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in athlete development, including skill progression and performance tracking
  • Support recruiting efforts, including scouting and player evaluation
  • Contribute to practice planning and execution
  • Assist with game preparation, including video review and strategy implementation
  • Help organize and lead off-ice activities, including team-building and community engagement
  • Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of hockey systems, skills development, and junior-level competition
  • Previous coaching or playing experience (Junior A or higher preferred)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, and a positive representative of the organization
