Head Coach Application
All prospective Head Coaches must complete the Coach Application.

Head Coach Honorarium
Central Alberta Selects provides an honorarium of $8,500 for the Head Coach role for the 2026–2027 season for U13AA, U15AA, U18AA. U11AA Head Coach receives $4,500.
Role Overview
Head Coaches are responsible for:

Acting as the team spokesperson.

Creating a safe and supportive environment for players and assistant coaches.

Leading on-ice and off-ice development, team culture, and community involvement.

Attending spring ID skates, tryouts, exhibition games, and evaluations (as applicable).

Collaborating with the division director on roster and staff selections.

Preparing seasonal development, communication, and team expectation plans.

Leading practices, game-day coaching, and video review sessions.

Communicating with CAS leadership throughout the season.

Abiding by all Lacombe Minor Hockey and Central Alberta Selects governance guidelines.
Coach Qualifications

All coaches must complete a coaching application each season.

Coaches may be required to complete additional Hockey Alberta courses—these are outlined in the coaching requirements documents on the Lacombe Minor Hockey and Hockey Alberta website.

CRC/VSC must be submitted prior to being rostered as a coach and is valid for three years, with annual acknowledgements if applicable.
