AJFHL Overage Policy
Current Policy:
Junior Female hockey is open to players twenty-one (21) years of age and younger in the current playing season. Any and all exceptions for the approval of Overage Players must be in accordance with the Policy noted below.
Eligibility of Overage Players
A. The overage player must have been registered in the previous season and played with a Junior Female team in the AJFHL or a College/University team in the Province of Alberta as a twenty-one (21) year old after January 10. Each team is allowed a maximum of 4 over aged players, including affiliates.
Or
B. A twenty-two (22) year old who was not registered in the previous season is eligible to register with a Junior Female club within the AJFHL, providing she did not play any organized (Professional, International, etc.) hockey in the previous years. The League President is authorized to rule on these special cases in consultation with the team.
Registering Overage Players
An AJFHL Team may register an overage player provided that:
A. The potential overage player must provide written confirmation from the previous team that she has completed all commitments to the previous team, i.e. return of equipment, fees, dues or time allocated to fundraising, etc.
Exceptions to this Policy
Any applications for exceptions to this policy are to be considered by the Junior Female Chairperson in consultation with the appropriate League President.
Requested Amendment:
Any and all exceptions for the approval of Overage Players must be in accordance with the Policy noted below.
Eligibility of Overage Players
A. Junior Female hockey is open to players twenty-one (21) years of age and younger in the current playing season. Additionally, each team can register up to four (4) overage players provided the overage player must be 22 years of age on or before December 31 of the current playing season.
