POSSIBLE BREACH OF POLICY OR BYLAW WITHIN YOUR MHA – SEND AN EMAIL
As associations within Hockey Alberta and unique legal operating societies in the province of Alberta, all Hockey Alberta Member Organizations (such as MHAs) have independent decision-making processes and governing documents such as bylaws, regulations, and policies. Hockey Alberta does not have the unilateral authority to change decisions made by other legal entities (such as an MHA).
Before Hockey Alberta can review any allegations regarding the actions of another legal entity, the person making the allegations must exhaust all avenues of review and appeal locally with the Member Organization.
Once all avenues are exhausted locally, there is the right of appeal. An Appeal does not operate as a stay of the decision or ruling being appealed. Decisions or rulings remain in effect unless the completed Appeals process amends the decision or ruling.
