Player Wellness Pilot
Hockey Alberta Player Wellness Pilot
Powered by EAS | 2026–27 Season
Supporting player wellness, on and off the ice.
Hockey is an important part of the lives of many Albertans. Along with the opportunities for development, competition and connection, players can experience challenges related to stress, confidence, fatigue, mental wellness and other factors that affect their experience in the game.
Hockey Alberta has partnered with EAS to introduce the Player Wellness Pilot, providing U13 and older teams with access to a digital platform that brings together player check-ins, educational resources and practical tools for players, coaches and parents.
The goal is to make wellness and healthy development a more natural part of the hockey experience, while helping take some of the pressure off players, coaches and families rather than adding to it.
Participation is free for selected teams, with space available for up to 200 teams across Alberta during the 2026–27 season.

How the Pilot Works
The platform provides three different experiences, each designed to support a different role within the hockey community.
For Players
Players can complete regular wellness and performance check-ins, explore personalized educational resources and access tools that support their development throughout the season.
Topics include mental wellness, confidence, resilience, sleep, recovery, nutrition, respect and belonging.
Individual player responses remain private and are not shared with coaches or parents through the platform.
For Coaches
Coaches have access to anonymous team-level check-in results, educational resources and practical tools to help recognize and respond to challenges that may affect their players.
These insights can help guide conversations, support team activities and inform coaching approaches throughout the season.
A minimum of five players must complete a check-in before anonymous team-level results are available.
For Parents & Caregivers
Parents have their own space within the platform, with resources and conversation guides to help support their player’s wellness and development.
Parents can also complete check-ins about how they feel their player is doing, helping them reflect on challenges and identify opportunities for support.
Parent accounts are separate from player accounts and do not provide access to individual player responses.
