Sledge Hockey Player Development Camp

Hockey Alberta is kicking off the 2019-20 season with a two-day Sledge Hockey Player Development Camp at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer on September 21 & 22. Designed to accommodate players of all ages and skill levels, this camp will feature a unique combination of on-ice and off-ice skill development, an equipment session, and a game-play session for new and returning sledge hockey players. 

The camp will be led by Canada’s Women’s National Para-Ice Hockey team Head Coach, Tara Chisholm. With a Masters in Adapted Physical Activity, Tara is a part-time Kinesiology instructor at Medicine Hat College and is very passionate about teaching and truly understanding what skills are required in sledge hockey while at the same time making sure the players are having fun!

Players attending this camp will receive:

  • 2 on-ice skill development sessions
  • 1 off-ice skill development session
  • 1 on-ice game-play session
  • Equipment session (parents welcome to attend)
  • Lunch on Saturday and Sunday 
  • Hockey Alberta jersey
  • Participant gift

Cost: $110 per player

Location: Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre - 120 College Circle, Red Deer

Schedule: A full schedule will be emailed to registered players one (1) week prior to camp.

  • Registration check-in will take place on Saturday, September 21 starting at 10:00 AM.
  • Sessions will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21. The day will wrap-up with an equipment session from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM which parents are encouraged to attend.
  • On Sunday, September 22, sessions will commence at 10:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. 

Refund Policy:

If you must withdraw from the camp, please contact Hockey Alberta for a full refund (less $30.00 administrative fee) up to 72 hours prior to the camp starting. A full refund will be issued if Hockey Alberta cancels a program.
