Instructional Stream - Checking Skills
Prior to attending the in person Checking Skills clinic coaches should have completed the HU- ONLINE Checking course. The in-person Checking Skills clinic will combine both classroom (1.5 hrs) and on-ice (1.5 hrs). Coaches will learn: Checking skill acquisition, four phases of checking – positioning and angling, stick checks, contact confidence, body checking. Checking safety, Checking skills drills, Roles and Responsibilities. The clinic emphasizes basic checking skills and the importance of having players develop confidence, respect and an awareness of the checking process. Please bring with you your skates, stick, CSA approved helmet, gloves and pen/paper. *When selecting a participant to complete this course in your e-hockey profile, please ensure you are selecting yourself and not your child*
Instructional Stream - Checking Skills clinic taking place in Kitscoty, AB on Saturday October 14, 2017. The off-ice component will be from 8:30am-10:30am at the Kitscoty High School(just north of the Rink) and the on-ice component of the clinic will be from 10:45am-12:15pm at the Kitscoty Arena.
