Hockey Alberta Goalie Advancement Camp North (Application)

Hockey Alberta’s Advancement Goalie Camp is the introduction to Hockey Alberta’s elite goalie camp stream. It is designed to introduce goaltenders to the skills, concepts and techniques necessary to play elite level Bantam and Midget hockey. Each camp will accept 36 under-14 goaltenders to experience the program. 

This camp has been designed to focus on necessary on-ice skills, concepts and techniques as well as incorporating classroom and off-ice instruction to support the goaltenders development.  

This camp is open to any 2004-2007 born male goaltenders currently playing Peewee AA or Bantam AA.

*Please note - this is the application process for Hockey Alberta’s AA Advancement Goalie Camp. Payment is only required for successful applicants. Applicants will receive notification on the status of their application by March 4.

The application deadline is March 1. The cost of the camp for successful applicants is $385.

Matt Weninger - Lead Instructor

Matt is currently the Provincial Goaltending Lead for Hockey Alberta. He is in charge of creating resources, developing camps and overseeing the Regional Goaltender Leads. A former NCAA Division I goaltender at St. Lawrence University he is now also the Goalie Coach for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL.

Ian Gordon - Hockey Alberta Goalie Lead (Edmonton)

Ian is the Regional Goaltending Lead for Edmonton for Hockey Alberta. Ian played in the WHL for the Swift Current Broncos and Saskatoon Blades before embarking on an 18 year pro career in the AHL, IHL and DEL. Ian currently owns Ian Gordon Goaltending and is the Goalie Coach for the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL) and the Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL)

Kraymer Barnstable - Hockey Alberta Goalie Lead (Central)

Kraymer is the Regional Goalie Lead for Central Alberta for Hockey Alberta. In addition, he is the current Goalie coach for the Red Deer Rebels (WHL) and the owner of Stable in the Net. 

Curtis Honey

Former WHL Goalie for the Brandon Wheat Kings (2011-2014). In addition to playing in the WHL, Cutris has alos played for the Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL and the University of Calgary. 

Ethan Wood

Currently the Goaltending Coach for the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL). Prior to his coaching career, Ethan has played in numerous leagues including the AJHL and
