2020 Hockey Alberta Small Area Games Camp - Red Deer
Hockey Alberta’s Small Area Games Camp is a Spring Development program for players born in 2006-2011 based on individual skills and small area games. It will run from March 24 - April 21, 2020. It will feature 2 one hour sessions per week (Tuesday and Thurs)
Each on-ice session will start with a series of skill development stations, followed by small area games, which are used to teach individual skills and tactics in a fun and competitive environment. With a lower number of participants than a traditional game and special rules, small area games focus on the development of specific skills by increasing puck touches and situational repetitions. These games improve a player’s ability to read, react and adapt to a given situation; improve their ability to handle a puck under extreme pressure and confinement; and improve their skating ability and edge work!
Each athlete will receive 8 one hour ice sessions instructed by Hockey Alberta trained instructors and staff members. Each player will take home a Hockey Alberta jersey.
Location: Gary W Harris Canada Games Centre - Red Deer
Schedule: March 24 - April 21 - Tuesday and Thursday Evenings
