(Lethbridge) Hockey Alberta Positional Development Camp
The 2019 Hockey Alberta Positional Development Camp will be a great opportunity for players learn necessary positional skills that will directly to success on the ice. In a standard hockey school coaches focus on basic skating, puck handling, passing and shooting. The Positional Development Camp will focus on skills such as:
- Puck retrievals
- First pass
- Offensive Blue-line play
- Defending Principals
- Offensive Principals
- Wall work
- Net play
- Counter attacking
- Quick strike plays
- Post Play
5-10 Minute Full Ice Warm-up
30 Minute Positional Split (Forwards, Defensemen and Goaltenders will split for individual work)
10 Minute Full Ice Incorporation Drill (Incorporating Positional Skills into full ice play)
10 Minute Small Area Game (Incorporating Positonal Skills into Small Area Game)

Matt Anholt - Matt is the Skills and Development Coach for the Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL). His responsibilities with the Hurricanes involve working directly with prospects throughout the season as well as skills with the Hurricanes players on a daily basis. Matt is a former NCAA Division I player at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Jeff Hansen - Jeff is the Assistant Coach of the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He is responsible for the day to day development and preparation of the Hurricanes. He has been with the Hurricanes for two seasons after spending the previous four with the Calgary Hitmen.
Kevin Higo - Kevin is the Elite Coach Mentor for Lethbridge Minor Hockey. His current position allows him to support, develop and oversee all coaches and players in the Elite stream of Lethbridge Minor Hockey (AA and AAA). He has had a long career in coaching, including stops in Brooks (AJHL), Grande Prairie (AJHL), For McMurray (AJHL), Moose Jaw (WHL), and Cape Breton (QMJHL).
Matt Weninger - Matt is Regional Manager for Hockey Alberta and Provincial Goaltending Lead. He is also the Goalie Coach for the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL) and the University of Lethbridge (USports). He is responsible for the development of goaltenders across the province with his position at Hockey Alberta as well as the goaltending development for Moose Jaw and the University of Lethbridge.
