The 2022-23 hockey season all comes down to this, the Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships presented by ATB. In total, 34 Provincial Champions will be crowned over three weekends. League play will determine four champions, while 30 divisions battle it out in a tournament style format. It all starts March 23!

TEAM ALBERTA NORTH WINS GOLD AND SILVER AT 2023 ARCTIC WINTER GAMES

Team Alberta North won one gold and one silver medal on home ice at the 2023 Arctic Winter Games. The Junior Female team went undefeated throughout the tournament en route to a gold medal. The U15 Male team battled to the end, but fell to Team NWT 6-5, ultimately finishing with silver. The U18 Male team finished round robin as the first seed, but lost two close games in the medal round to finish fourth.

Hockey Alberta has selected the 111 volunteers who will lead teams at the 2023 Spring Showcase. Each team will consist of a director of operations, coach mentor, head coach and two assistant coaches. Teams at the Alberta Cup and Alberta Challenge will include a trainer. Staff for each Alberta Challenge team also includes an apprentice coach.

The Hockey Alberta Foundation has been accepted as a participating charity in the Birdies for Kids program, presented by AltaLink. NORTHSTARS CARES AND HOCKEY ALBERTA FOUNDATION TEAM UP TO SUPPORT HEROS HOCKEY

The Calgary Northstars U15 Players and their families have accepted a challenge to raise $10,000 for the SuperHEROS Program for the upcoming 2021-22 hockey season. This money will allow them to put another team on the ice from their existing wait list. The team, along with the help of The Hockey Alberta Foundation are organizing an online auction that will run the month of February 2021.

The Government of Alberta today announced a mandatory two-week pause on indoor group fitness classes and team sport activities. HOCKEY CANADA ASSIST FUND TO PROVIDE $1 MILLION TO HELP YOUNG CANADIANS RETURN TO HOCKEY

The Hockey Canada Foundation has launched its new $1 million Assist Fund to provide registration fee subsidies for qualified Canadians who are registered with Hockey Canada-sanctioned associations for the 2020-21 season. The Hockey Alberta Foundation would also like to encourage groups and individuals to apply for a Program or Player Assistance grant through Every Kid Every Community.
