The Future Leader Development Program is designed to train and mentor post-secondary students in the area of coaching. In the 2021 version of the program, selected future leaders will be trained through virtual sessions that include: skill development, leadership, team building and practice planning.

Alberta Built Skill Camp options are now available for July and August. Each camp is focused on developing specific individual and team skills, and follow the principles of the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model adopted by Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada.

Nearly 20 years ago, Kyle Dodginghorse stepped behind the bench for the first time to coach at the Alberta Treaty Hockey Games and Native Provincials. He now sits on Hockey Alberta’s Indigenous Hockey Committee and is the Hockey Coordinator for Tsuut’ina Nation.

Registration is now open for the 2021 Team Alberta U16 Male and U18 Female Summer Selection Camps, Fuelled by Gatorade. The U16 Male camp runs August 3-8 and the U18 Female camp runs August 10-15, both at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer.

Registration is now open for the 2021-22 NHL/NHLPA First Shift program.The NHL/NHLPA First Shift program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families by offering a low-cost entry program to hockey.
