Hockey Alberta Development Seminar
As part of Hockey Alberta’s member engagement strategy, minor hockey associations around the province have an outstanding professional development opportunity for their volunteers and staff by attending the inaugural Hockey Alberta Development Seminar. The Seminar is taking place the weekend of June 16-18th at the Nexsource Centre in the Town of Sylvan Lake, Alberta. The overall goal of the weekend is to educate, develop, and inspire our leaders of the game, and provide them with the tools and information to take back to their associations and teams to help grow the game of Hockey in Alberta. The seminar features four streams of educational experience for participants to better prepare for the upcoming season. The streams include Development Directors, Goaltending Development, Coaches Skills, and NCCP Facilitator Training.
A highlight of the weekend for all delegates is a special presentation from keynote speaker Greg Millen.
Millen is best known for his 14-year career as an NHL goaltender (Pittsburgh, Hartford, St. Louis, Quebec, Chicago, Detroit), and 21-year career as an NHL broadcaster and analyst. He also has a keen interest in the field of leadership, having earned his Master of Leadership degree from the College of Management and Economics, University of Guelph.
Millen will be joined in a hot stove session by other NHL alumni and industry professionals as they reflect on some of the challenges and experiences in their careers.
