HOCKEY ALBERTA ANNOUNCES TEAM ALBERTA NORTH ROSTERS FOR ARCTIC WINTER GAMES


Hockey Alberta announced on Tuesday the male and female rosters that will represent Team Alberta North at the 2012 Arctic Winter Games March 4-10, 2012 in Whitehorse, Yukon.

“The Arctic Winter Games have a long tradition of providing our Northern Alberta athletes with a unique opportunity to represent their province at an international event while experiencing other cultures and building lifelong friendships,” said Hockey Alberta Regional Centre North Coordinator, Dave Brown.

The rosters are compiled of 1997 and 1998 born (Bantam) in the male category and 1994 born or later (U18) in the female category.

 

The Arctic Winter Games is the world’s largest northern multi-sport and cultural event. The Games include the participation of teams from Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta North, Nunavut, Greenland, Yamal, Nunavik, Quebec and Sapmi.

 

The Arctic Winter Games are a celebration of athletic competition, culture, friendship and cooperation between northern contingents. Athletic competition features sports that enjoy worldwide popularity alongside traditional Arctic Sports and Dene Games.
