“The World Hockey Tour provides our athletes with an excellent opportunity to connect with the World Junior Championship as many of them won’t be able to attend a tournament game though it is hosted right in our city,” said Hockey Edmonton General Manager, Dean Hengel. “We had an overwhelming response for registration and we’re excited to create an ‘I Was There’ moment for each participant.”

Each of the selected communities will host a day of on and off-ice festivities, including a 4-on-4 Novice and Atom hockey tournament where the players wear the jersey’s of all the teams competing at the World Junior Championship, coaching clinics, a replica Team Canada locker room and a Giant “I Was There” hockey puck for photo opportunities as well as numerous giveaways and prizes for fans.
