This is the new title for the ‘Checking Skills’ Course.

I have never used ehockey before, and do not have an account

Ehockey is the public’s access to view what Hockey Canada/Hockey Alberta has on file. You will need to create a login using your email address.

Once you have created your login, you will want to add a participant to the account. There can be more than one participant added. The individual taking the course is to be the participant registered.

If you do not know your Hockey ID, please search by the second option.

If your name is not found, please choose “create a new participant profile”.

**If you have been a coach or player in the past, you WILL have a profile, please try alternate spellings of your name, and ensure all entered information is correct BEFORE creating a new participant profile.

I can’t sign up for the in-person Coach 1 – Intro to Coach or Coach 2 – Coach Level.

You must be 100% completed the HU – ONLINE Coach 1/2 - this includes the survey at the end.

To log back in to complete the course click here: https://ehockey.hockeycanada.ca/ehockey/Account/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fehockey%2fDefault.aspx

I have Speak Out, do I need to take Respect in Sport?

No, Speak Out is grandfathered in as Respect in Sport-Coach, however this does not cover RIS-Parent

I have registered and paid my money, how do I take the course now?

There is a hyperlink found on your ehockey profile, under the “Clinics” portion, click it and a new tab will open with the Hockey University Course.

Why won’t the course open on my tablet?

The course is not currently compatible with mobile or tablet devices, you must be using a PC or Mac.

I don’t have a credit card, how can I sign up?

Pre-paid VISAs work on the fee collection system, there are generally admin fees associated with activating these cards, please ensure there is a correct balance. Debit VISAs are also now accepted.

I took RIS with another sport, do I have to take it again?

No, however you will have ’register’ your certificate number with hockey. Parent for parent and Coach for coach.

The steps are below & you will need to have your certificate number from the RIS:

  1. Go to the appropriate login
  2. Choose the option of “REGISTER NEW USER”
  3. At the top there is a “CERTIFICATE NUMBER (OPTIONAL)” this is where you enter the certificate number and choose “CHECK”
    • ***choosing CHECK is important otherwise it will not register the certificate
    • Some of your info will come up, but the rest they will need to completed.
    • You will also have to go into “CHILD MANAGEMENT” and add any children playing hockey if this is a parent certificate.
    • You will not have to pay again.

I took a coaching course a while back, however it is not showing on my ehockey file.
